Hi, I'm Gerbert! I'm 7 years young and am a solid 12 pound Yorkie boy. I like to be as close as possible to my humans while snuggling on the sofa. I am super sweet and I love to snuggle. Snuggling and meal times are my two favorite things! I love my food and clean my plate every time. Did I mention I like to snuggle and require endless belly rubs?

I am a shy boy and can be skittish in new situations; this life after coming into rescue has been new to me. It took me a couple days to warm up in my new foster home and now I love it! I'm a taller Yorkie and I'm still figuring how to get up and down without doing somersaults (it's kind of funny!). I have figured out how to do the big stairs next to my foster mom's bed. Speaking of her bed, it's my favorite place to sleep, but if you aren't interested in snuggles at night I can sleep in my crate as well. I'm very polite and will wait for an invite into the bed! I also can sleep on a pillow next to the bed, but snuggling with you is my favorite.

My foster mom is working on teaching me how to go to the bathroom outside and how to bravely walk on a leash. I've been working so hard with my house training and I have almost mastered it!! I have learned to go outside all on my own, and will follow my furry resident dogs in the yard as well.

I need a fenced in yard for extra security (plus the leash still scares me), I'm so sweet you wouldn't want to lose me! If you're looking for a snuggly, sweet, and quiet boy, I'm the pup for you! I just want to be loved and find my forever home. Will you be my forever family?

Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends. In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs.

ADOPTION EVENTS:

Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience. NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets. All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet. All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
