I am Miss Kimmie and I am 8 years old and 6 pounds. I am one sweet girl and learning how to be a brave dog every day!

I am getting over my shyness and have found so much joy when getting affection. I love to be held, cuddled, and carried around. I even love being pushed in a stroller so I can better see the world around me. I also love treats and can even identify the sound a bag being opened. YUM!

Since I am so tiny and fragile, I need supervision around small children. I would do best in a home with a retiree or someone who works from home and can spend lots of time with me. If you work outside the home, I would really like another dog around to keep me company and help me build my confidence. 

House training is a work in progress and I'm getting close. I use a potty pad when needed, but I do know how to go outside. We are working on my leash skills and they are getting pretty good. Hardwood floors are tricky and I like carpet or rugs much better. I'm learning that the wood floors aren't lava and I won't melt if I touch them. I am darn proud of what I have accomplished so far!

I am curious and love to be outside in the yard where I can roam around freely. As much as I love to be outside though, the cold weather pushes me back in since I'm so itty bitty and get cold easily. Maybe we can shop for some winter attire for me?

I have a beautiful long coat and I would love for it to be brushed gently regularly. I am a tender sweetheart and I know that with some time and patience, I will be the best darn pupperoni in town! I hope you will give me a chance!

 

Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends.  In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs.

ADOPTION EVENTS:     

Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

ADOPTION PROCEDURE:

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.

NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
