I am Zinnia! I am about 3 years old and 8 pounds. This whole rescue business is new to me and I think I like it.

I am a curious little gal and quickly adjusting to my new life in rescue. Not only am I curious, but I am smart too! In just two days, I learned to go up and down a full flight of stairs. I even learned to jump on furniture, though I think the humans are trying to teach me not to, oops! Clearly, I am quiet the agile pup.

I am very friendly and affectionate and snuggling is my favorite! If you could just give me endless amounts of affection, that would be great! I do howl or whine if I am left alone and my foster family is working on that with me. When you find love, it's hard to let it go, even if for just a few hours. 

House training is still in progress and I hope to master it soon. I don't have accidents in my crate or sleeping area, so that's good they say. Walking on a leash is something I recently learned as well. I have been clocked at walking up to a mile around the neighborhood so far! Exploring the outdoors is one of my favorite activities. 

I am likely blind in my right eye and the jury is still out on what may happen next. I may need it removed, but stay tuned to find out. I will get along fine without it, as most dogs do. In fact, if I only have one eye, it will be like having a super power! Plus, I will be super adorable.

I am good with older children and get along with other dogs. I could be your one and only pup or I could be an addition to your current pack. Could you be the pack leader though, then I don't need to be?! If you are looking for a professional lap warmer and snuggle extraordinaire, I am your girl!

Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends.  In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs.

ADOPTION EVENTS:     

Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

ADOPTION PROCEDURE:

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.

NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
