Paws

Hi my name is Vicki! I am a sweet and friendly gal who is looking for a forever home where I can play and cuddle to my hearts content.

I can be a bit shy at first when I meet a stranger but it doesn't take me too long to warm up. Once I get to know you I'm your best buddy! I like to follow my foster mom around just to make sure she doesn't go anywhere without me.

Some of my favorite things include food, toys, and being outside. Did I mention food? If you have something that looks or smells like food I will appear to see if I can help you eat it.
I enjoy playing with toys and chewing on bones. Some toys I enjoy a little too much and tend to get excited and pull them apart (what else are you supposed to do with all that stuffing?).
Sniffing around the yard is one of my favorite hobbies. There are so many smells I just have to investigate!

I also really enjoy sleeping in a nice warm bed...I do okay in a kennel but it's not my favorite place so sometimes I will protest the kennel. I would much prefer to sleep in bed at night with you so I can snuggle close and hopefully get some extra petting in.

I'm doing really well with potty training on a schedule and have had very few accidents in my foster home.

I do well with other dogs however I much prefer dogs to puppies. I also do well with children but again, older children are best for me.

I am such a spunky girl and can't wait for the day I find my forever home. Is that your home? I can't wait to meet you! :)

Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends.  In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs.

ADOPTION EVENTS:

Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

ADOPTION PROCEDURE:

The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website:
Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.
All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions.

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.

NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
