Parsley here! I am 20 pounds and 4 years old.  I have become quite the urban adventure girl since joining rescue. We walk all about the city neighborhoods, lakes, creek, and river parkways. I am awesome on a leash and I LOVE my visits to the state parks. Give me any kind of terrain and I will dominate any landscape!  

I have become much more confident and playful as time has passed. I love walks and want to be near my humans and canine pals. It still takes me some time to build trust with new people, but I am generally more curious and I don't hide anymore when new people come over to visit! I am one brave girl!

Hanging around other dogs, especially puppies is so much fun! I love being playful. Watching birds and squirrels from my favorite window spot keeps me pretty busy during the day. I also like to dabble in some sun bathing here and there. I have become very relaxed wherever my family hangs out and love some patio time.

I hope to have a home without young children and do best with calm kids 8 years and older.  My foster family describes me as funny, happy, and curious. I even have a fun bounce when I am excited or playful! Life is just so exciting now and I am so grateful for my freedom! As bouncy as I can be, I also love human companionship and lounging around the house with my friends. In order to thrive in my furever home, I will need a companion dog to live with and learn from every day. I hope that’s okay!

I have an old injury that has caused me to be blind in my right eye. Nothing needs to be done about this and I can get around town just fine. I am completely potty trained and haven't had any accidents! I am crated up to 6 hours and never make a fuss. I sleep near my human’s bed and wait for everyone to wake up before I get up. I am such a well-mannered and quiet girl! I even have learned some fun commands such as sit, leave it, excuse me, and off. I am currently working on down. I hope I can impress you with all of these skills!

I will do best with a calm, gentle, and confident owner. I am clearly a gem that will light up your world! What do you think? Should we m eet?!

 

Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends.  In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs.

ADOPTION EVENTS:     

Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

ADOPTION PROCEDURE:

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.

NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
