I am Miss Paulina and I am a special girl. I am about 6 years old and weigh 11.5 pounds.

I had a rough start at life, spending the beginning of my career as a dog in a commercial breeding facility. I lost many teeth and was at a low weight. Now, I am in rescue and feeling so much better and blossoming into the beautiful dog I was meant to be!

I love being with my humans and my favorite thing to do is snuggle with my foster mom and the other dogs in a big chair where we can all sit close. I am quite a sweetie! I also LOVE bully sticks and other tasty treats.

Because life had been scary for me in the past, I am still very shy. Watching the other dogs helps me gain confidence, and I go to work with my foster mom every day to meet new people and learn about the fun of life. I hope that I can find a quiet home without small children and with another dog.  I show up to life more brave every day and am doing a swell job! I have bonded closely with my foster mom, which means I can bond with any caregiver who comes my way!

Walks are very fun, especially if I have my dog pals with me. I like to pick up sticks on my walks and carry them. Toys though, those things are weird and I still don't understand them or the noises they make. Riding in the pet stroller with my foster sister is really fun, too. I feel like such a little celebrity! I will even let you pick out little outfits for me if you'd like or I can go nude. Your pick!

I am potty trained and I am learning the commands sit and stay. I sleep in my crate  and I don’t mind it at all. In the morning, you can sometimes hear me make a low and grumbly little bark when it’s time to get up. Really, I am just signaling my human for some morning coffee (not really though, because coffee would make me sick!)!

I am simply looking for a home that can provide me with patience and guidance through this big world. Someone who is home a lot or can bring me to work would be ideal, so I don't get nervous about being alone for too long. I promise to be loyal and love you for the rest of my days!

ADOPTION EVENTS:

Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

ADOPTION PROCEDURE:

The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website:
Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.
All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions.

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.

NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
