Paws

I am precious Quincy and I am new to rescue.  I am about 3 years old and 12 pounds. I am a Miniature Poodle with phantom coloring. That means I have beautiful coloring – you really have to see it for yourself!

At home, I am a lovable and playful pup. I love my resident sister and she shows me how to go to the bathroom outside. She also has shown me the magic of dog beds. We cuddle in them sometimes – they are so soft, we just fall asleep. I am learning everything I need to know and gaining confidence from my resident sister. I would like and need a doggie friend at my forever home. Pretty please!

In new situations, I am a shy boy and learning to trust people and new dogs. I am very smart and let my curiosity lead me through this new world. I discovered mirrors and sometimes bark at them. I see a dog who looks just like me! I think I am more handsome though. Since I am still working on my bravery, I need to go to a home without small children.

I am one lucky pup and get to go to work with my foster mom five days a week. I sleep in my crate at night and ride in one in the car when I am on my way to work. I am used to being active all day and request that I am not crated all day. Walks, let’s talk about walks. I love them and am getting better every day! My foster mom brings me to as many new situations as she can to socialize me. I am hoping my forever family will help me with this, too! I am doing really great.

I get the puppy zoomies in the morning and around dinner time. If my foster mom isn’t fast enough, I will bark at her a little to let her know to pick up the pace. I am a hungry little boy! My favorite thing to do is curl up with friends in a big chair and relax. I didn’t know what relaxation was before being in rescue and it is so wonderful. I will sprawl out and let my foster mom scratch my belly. In return, I give her kisses. I am a very affectionate boy once I am bonded with my humans.

I am simply a wonderful pup soaking up this new world. I am bonding with my foster family and delighting in new discoveries more every day. I would love to give my heart to you and explore everything this world has to offer together. Whaddya say?

Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends.  In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs.

ADOPTION EVENTS:

Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

ADOPTION PROCEDURE:

The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website:
Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.
All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions.

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.

NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
