I’m the darling Miss Mae! I am 10 years young and about 9 pounds.

I’m a happy, calm gal who loves to snuggle with my people! The couch and the bed are some of my favorite spots and you can often find me burrowed into a soft area or blanket. I love having my ears and back scratched during cuddle time. It's the best!

I am good with other dogs, however I don't like when bigger dogs are overly rambunctious with me. I mean, I am only 9 pounds! I really like dogs my size and am content cuddling with them on the couch. Though, I often am pretty independent of other pups and do my own thing. With that said, I wouldn't mind a dog friend in my furever home. If my family is home often or can take me with them to places when they leave, I may do just fine being an only dog.

My greatest trick is a funny stretch-kick I do with my back legs. It’s pretty adorable. I’m a healthy girl who loves to chew on raw bones or bully sticks and prance around the yard like a 2-year old! When it's warm and sunny out I love to sunbathe. I am potty trained on a schedule.

I am pretty quiet and rarely bark unless other dogs are barking, or sometimes in the kennel. Did I mention that I don't like really loud noises? If you are cheering on the Twins or the Vikings I would prefer if you clapped instead of jumping up and down to cheer!

Sometimes, you have to be patient to catch me, but I’m getting braver. If you call me, I will typically come right along! Once I trust you, I’m in love with you to the moon and back. So, can I be   your furever honey??

Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends.  In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs.

ADOPTION EVENTS:

Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

ADOPTION PROCEDURE:

The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website:
Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.
All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions.

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.

NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
