Hi, I'm Cooper, a very handsome and sweet German Shepherd. I am 7 years old and 79 pounds. Are you looking for the most perfect family pet? Then I am your guy! Looking for someone to join you on adventures in the car? Look no further. Have kids looking for a playmate? I love kids!

I'm extremely loving and laid back and love nothing more than to be around my family. I love walks, I'm great on a leash. I love car rides, I will happily wait in the car while you run your errands. I get along with all dogs. I love to play with toys (balls are my favorite!), and I love to play with the kids in my foster home. I'm super gentle with kids and babies. Have I mentioned how perfect I am?

I'm also super smart. I am completely house trained -- I'll even bark to let you know I need to go outside. I do great on a leash and know lots of commands; sit, down, stay, wait, leave it, and outside. I am not good in a crate and will bark, so it's okay trust me out in the house. As long as you don't have trash or any cupboards I can sneak into to get food, I'm fine being out and about. Oh and make sure you don't leave food on the counter -- I will help myself! I love to eat and my family has found that a grain-free diet is best for my little tummy.

I like to be close to my people, preferably on a blanket on the floor next to them. I don't get on the bed or on the sofa. I just really want to be included in my family and don't like to be left behind. Take me for a short drive before you leave and I'm a happy guy and should be on my best behavior when you're gone.

Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends. In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. ADOPTION EVENTS:

Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience. NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets. All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet. All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
